Kids are moody. They might want one thing to play with and the very next moment they might find interest in something else. They are messy and need all their toys scattered on the floor. This cluttering requires great effort by the parents when it comes to it cleaning up. It so happens that as soon as they put the toy away the kid needs it again. On the other hand the kids do not learn to keep their surroundings clean. This is the very reason why toy storage bins are a smart choice.
Toys are really important in different stages of a child‘s development. It is up to the grown‐ups to figure out which toys are appropriate for the child‘s age as well as to ascertain that the toys are safe for use. There are still many skills that a child can learn through playing with his educational toys, but one thing is for certain ‐ the key player in his growth is still human interaction. According to Marilyn Segal, Ph.D., dean emeritus and director of the professional development program at Mailman Segal Institute for Early Childhood Studies at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the most important toy is the parent and other caregivers because babies crave one‐on‐one social interaction and need the security it provides.
Toys are one of the things that kids want to spend their time with. They are their chief source of enjoyment and the parents are quite happy to buy their kids the toys. The toys give the kids an opportunity to get lost in the world of make belief. However, it is important to consider whether that attachment to that toys and their world eventually benefit the kids in their way into the real world. In fact, a few kids‘ toys are available in the market that takes care of this specific area. These toys ensure that playing with them will improve a kids skills and understanding to deal with the real world. Certainly, these toys should be preferred by the parents.
If you asked any child if his or her toys are important, the answer would be a resounding YES. We certainly thought so too when we were young enough to play with toys. When it‘s our turn to buy them for the little ones, some of us begin to question the relevance of toys in a child‘s life. We all have a favorite toy whose memories can still elicit a chuckle or two. Mine was a plastic food set with plates and cups and saucers. I used to play with my cousins, and we certainly had fun imagining those toy plates brimming with the sweets we craved back then.
My kids don‘t think I was ever a child. I really have very few things to prove that once I was full of imagination and love for toys. What better way to share memories with your children than with toys that are personal to your childhood? I will forever keep a box filled with these items for my grandchildren. I will keep those special collections and dry erase boards filled with pretend lesson plans to prove that their parents used to be cool, fun and filled with imagination.
Thankfully, my children has adapted a careful demeanor when it comes to handling their toys, I believe that this is the most important thing, and a first step to ensuring the longevity of toys. Kids and toys must have a bond, so that the children will take extra care in handling them. It also helps to teach them that sharing is important, and that if they don‘t take care of their toys, their brothers or sisters will be losing it as well.
