It‘s a fact that the life expectancy of kids toys are short but we have to face the reality; with the high pricing cost of basic commodities nowadays it is really not practical for us to buy toys frequently to replace broken ones. It is therefore important that we teach our kids how to maintain their toys. We know that at one point those toys will be broken but what we could do is to extend the life span of those toys.
Parents are very excited to shop for their child even if the baby is not yet born. At the time that the ultrasound reveals the gender of the child, the whole family is thrilled to give the child the best thing they could give. Parents and caregivers usually choose the right kids toys to be offered to children. If the child is below one year old, toys that might cause possible choking are avoided. Being a child, stuffed toys, blocks, puzzles, cars, and dolls are the most common toys. Bicycles, building blocks, coloring workbooks, and other materials could be given as the child grows older.
From Baptism days, birthdays, Christmas, or any special day, there are definitely various occasions that would warrant giving kids toys to children. Since kids grow up fast and change toy preferences easily, a lot of parents find it frustrating to keep all those kids toys without having to resort to throwing out some. Moreover, there‘s also the constant struggle to teach kids to pick up their toys after playtime. Before you become too frustrated with trying to keep your house free of clutter, here are some handy tips you can follow to help you efficiently organize your children‘s stuff.
My children have thousands of toys. Each Christmas, birthday or generic holiday in between grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends load them up with the latest toy fad. One year our son ended up with two dancing Boohbah toys. Who in the world needs two of these creatures? Each year right after Thanksgiving we sit down as a family and decide what we must keep, what we can throw out and what is still okay enough for donation. I will admit I have one child who would toss it all except her dry erase board. The other is so wrapped up in his toys he wants to keep even the tiniest of broken pieces. One thing that we can come to a final agreement on is that there is someone who wants toys that won‘t have any this year and we have an abundance. The other thing we agree on is that the holiday and coming year will bring many new toys for them to enjoy.
Experts say that playing with toys is essential to a child‘s development starting from the infant stage. Kids‘ toys like rattles, mobiles, toy teethers, and key rings help babies connect sound, sight, taste, touch, and smell to objects. Rattles do help them learn about cause and effect not to mention introduce colors and shapes. Color and shape recognition, spatial relationship awareness, hand‐eye coordination, and other motor skills are exercised through playing with educational toys that were made specifically to enhance those skills. There are also kids‘ toys that enhance the kids‘ imagination and creativity. Some toys even teach them patience (think floor puzzles) and reinforce the concept of hygiene (think bath and tub toys).
The quality of the toy is always a very important aspect especially when it comes to outdoor toys because low quality bikes, skates or slides can break down at any instant causing potential damage. Therefore always opt for standard, good quality baby toys if you wish that your child remains safe while playing. Trying buying products that are durable and which do not break easily because children in the heat of play can often be destructive. Additionally try buying toys devoid of sharp edges that have a potential of causing scratches or cuts. If possible, try taking the child along while buying the toy or show him the image of the toy if you are shopping online. The reaction they elicit will be a very good indicator as to whether they will approve of the toy or not.
